Jennifer August: Owner/Artistic DirectorJennifer discovered her love of dance as a student here in Reno, NV. After graduation from Reno High School, she moved to Boston to study dance with Joan Palladino at Dean College where she received her associate’s degree. She was then selected to study at Alvin Ailey Dance Academy in New York City. In 1997, she received her BFA in dance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where she studied with some of the foremost jazz and modern dancers in the country. Included among them were Ronen Koresh of the Koresh Dance Company, Wayne St. David, Doug Elkins, Beth Iguchi, Janine Bryant, Earl Mosley, Miltion Myers, and Pat Thomas. Jennifer elected to remain in Philadelphia, and became a member of the Paradigm Dance Company. Jennifer has performed with the Next Step Dance Company in New Jersey, and also began teaching at various studios throughout the area. Upon her return to Reno, she opened In Motion Studio of Dance, the Reno home of both Sierra Nevada Ballet and the Black Rock Dance Company. Rosine Bena: Director of BalletRosine is the Artistic Director of Sierra Nevada Ballet, the professional ballet company for northern Nevada. She is a former ballerina with the Stuttgart Ballet, the Washington Ballet and Peninsula Ballet Theatre. Rosine is the former director of the internationally acclaimed Peninsula Ballet Theater School and is the Director of the Ballet Program at In Motion Studio of Dance in Reno, and the Western Nevada performing Arts Center in Carson City and also teaches at the University of Nevada. She is an international master teacher and teaches workshops throughout the USA. Rosine Bena is an ABT Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 7 of the ABT National Training Curriculum. Jenny Buck: InstructorJenny has been dancing since she was three years old, competing since she was six, teaching and choreographing for high schools, middle schools, and dance studios in and around San Jose for the past six years. She moved to Reno with Scott, Brutus, Tank, and Winston in July of 2006, and began teaching at In Motion in October of 2006, and is now the Assistant Artistic Director of the In Motion Performance Dance Team. Larissa Cassera: InstructorLarissa has danced numerous professional roles in companies including Oregon Ballet Theatre, the University of Arizona Dance Ensemble, and Sierra Nevada Ballet. She received her training with the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre, joined Sierra Nevada Ballet as a soloist in May of 2004, and was quickly raised to Principal Dancer in September of 2004. She has been featured as principal dancer in such works as: Gershwin Allegro; Paging Mr. Stair; Take Me to the River; Walking On Broken Glass and A Shape of A Pair. She is a fourth grade teacher with the Washoe County School District, holds her Masters degree in Elementary Education, and teaches Beginning and Adult Ballet at In Motion Studio of Dance. Erin Borud: InstructorErin started dancing in North Dakota at the age of six. One year later she started competing at local and national competitions, winning numerous awards. Her love of dance inspired her to study many forms of dance including jazz, ballet, folkloric, lyrical, tap, with her favorite being modern. Erin has performed in productions such as The Nutcracker and West Side Story. She was accepted into the summer intensive program at The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York City in 2005 and was also accepted into the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2006. Marla Richardson: InstructorMarla started dancing at the early age of three, primarily under the instruction of Ava Kerr. She did competitions and conventions all over the U.S., winning numerous scholarships and awards. She then went on to instruct for one of the largest dance companies in the world – Varsity Spirit Corporation and Universal Dance Association. Marla is a former member of the University of Nevada, Reno’s Collegiate Dance Team, and a former choreographer and Asst. Coach for McQueen High School Dance Team, who took first at North Cal Championships that year. She has performed in Shanghai, China and taught in Wellington, New Zealand; and was one of 25 dancers to perform for the T-20 Champions League cricket matches in India. She has been teaching at In Motion since the summer of 2008, and teaches for various community programs for the City of Reno and Washoe County. Glenn Trinidad: InstructorGlenn loves to obtain, enjoy, and share his evolving knowledge of dance. His background as a youth was in martial arts, athletics, and music and his formal education was in engineering. His true interest is in the art, science, and fun of partnership dancing. He is a certified Dancer, Instructor, and Competitor for the NDCA, USTA, and DVIDA dance organizations. He has competed with students in a number of regional competitions and received coaching from top professionals in Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Salsa, and Tango.
